Music

Strike a chord

When studying music at the Adult Education Centre, you can focus on singing, playing an instrument, or playing in a band, orchestra, or choir. The courses introduce you to a wide range of musical styles.

Singing and instrument courses are mainly group lessons. Students also receive individual guidance in these courses.

Studying music requires commitment and independent practice. You must also have your own instrument for instrument lessons.

Music theory and ear training courses support your singing and instrument studies.

You can deepen your relationship with music in music lectures that cover both historical and contemporary topics.

Music technology courses cover topics such as recording, mixing, and music production using information technology.

Time to change the tune?

Music is for all ages. The courses at the Helsinki adult education centre are mainly aimed at people aged 16 and over. We also offer family courses and courses specifically aimed at older people and certain special groups.

Music lectures and concerts are generally open to everyone and free of charge. Always check the course-specific information on the Ilmonet portal.
