Student Union
Helsingin Työväenopiston Opistolaisyhdistys ry, or in less formal terms, the Student Union, organises cultural and recreational activities for its members and develops cooperation between students and staff. During the academic year, the Student Union organises member meetings to inform members about its activities and current issues.

The Student Union runs the Oppiskahvio student café on the second floor of the Opistotalo main building on Helsinginkatu 26. The café serves sweet and savoury products prepared in its in-house kitchen, as well as soup and side salads at lunchtime.
The Oppiskahvio café is open Mon–Thu at 9.30–20.00 and on Friday 9.30–16.00.
Lunch is served Mon–Thu at 11–15 and on Friday at 10–14.
