Widen your horizons
The subject provides a wide range of free public lectures. Our versatile lectures offer information form current topics to different cultures and history. There are numerous topics, and new ones are added every semester. The teaching is based on research and is impartial and non-committal in terms of worldview. Participation does not require registration and does not bind you. Find the selection on the Ilmonet portal’s Lectures page.
The subject area also offers paid courses. These courses provide an opportunity to meet others, engage in social interaction, and share experiences as a community. Courses cover a wide range of topics, such as psychological first aid, mindfulness skills, and genealogy. Most of the courses are short courses that do not require any prior knowledge.
The course selection varies constantly. The courses are classified according to the following themes:
- philosophy and religious studies
- psychology and mental well-being
- history and genealogy as a subfield
- cultural awareness
- societal studies
- economics and entrepreneurship
- oral communication
- education and studying
- housing
My daughter and I participated in a baby colour bath course at the Kallio branch in the fall. The course and the instructor were excellent! We have fond memories and good experiences from the course, thank you!
